Vaughan Ranks in the Top 10 Most Walkable Cities in Canada

Vaughan has placed in the top 10 cities considered walkable in Canada by tourists.
A recent study by Preply, an online language learning platform connecting teachers and learners worldwide, ranks Vaughan in 10th place.
Vaughan’s neighbouring city, Toronto came in at number five.
The platform analyzed the country’s largest cities, using Tripadvisor listings to highlight the top five attractions in every city, the study says.
Then, the Google Maps route planner was used to determine the distance and time required to visit each destination on foot in a day, and the steps each journey would take.
Preply created final lists by calculating the estimated time it would take to complete the walking tours using a conversation rate of 1,315 steps per kilometre, the study reveals.
The study says that although Canada boasts about having many pedestrian-friendly cities where visitors can explore without relying on public transportation or rideshares, only a few cities, including Ottawa and London, ranked above Toronto.
Those who find adventure in discovering cities on foot are likely to enjoy Halifax, as it was revealed as the No. 1 walkable destination.
