Selling a Home: Staging 101
Staging is one of the hottest real estate trends you may have never heard about. Ever watched one of those HGTV shows where the chipper designer has the homeowners open their eyes to find a perfectly dressed home, right down to the books on the shelves? That is called staging. It simply means that they brought in furniture and décor to make the home look magazine ready. (Spoiler alert – they don’t get to keep all that stuff. It’s just for show.)
There are many benefits to staging a home before putting it on the market. Stagers can help with decluttering and removing personal items that might turn buyers off. Staging can also help to add a sense of scale to large or small spaces, using furniture and art. Most importantly, staging can help the buyer to imagine what their lives might be like if they lived in the home.
These days, there are even virtual staging options, where furniture and décor can be digitally added to the marketing photos of your home. Staging is a fantastic way to make your home appealing to the most buyers possible, helping to get you top dollar.
