Vaughan’s Elderly Home-Owners Tax Assistance Program

I wanted to draw your attention to the City of Vaughan tax assistance program which expires March 31, 2014. This is a tax initiative aimed at helping elderly home owners who own and occupy their property in the City of Vaughan.

To qualify applicants must:

• Be 65 years of age or older as of March 31, 2014
• Must own and occupy their principal residence (in the City of Vaughan) for a period of not less than one year
•  The applicant must be receiving the GUARANTEED INCOME SUPPLEMENT (GIS)
•  Must submit an application by no later than March 31, 2014 with a copy of their T4OAS Statement for the year 2013. Attached is a copy of the application.
