Temporary road closure on Thornridge Drive, between Yonge Street and Elizabeth Street
To complete utility installation for the Yonge North Subway Extension, Thornridge Drive will be closed from Yonge Street to Elizabeth Street on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., from Oct. 28 to Nov. 22. The road will reopen outside these hours. Signage and detour barriers will be in place. Black and McDonald will conduct trenching for concrete duct bank and hydro line installations, which requires heavy machinery and full road closure for safety. This temporary closure ensures efficient construction while protecting underground infrastructure.

Vellore Heritage Walkway closure
The walkway at Vellore Heritage Park (9541 Weston Rd.) will be closed until January 2025 to safely complete construction of a new fire station at 9511 Weston Rd. During this period, an alternate pedestrian path (highlighted in blue on the map below) will be available for public use. Fencing and signage have been installed to inform residents of the closure.

Improvements to Blue Willow Square
New inclusive playground equipment, engineered wood fibre safety surfacing and an accessible ramp into the play area. A new shade structure with seating is being added through section 37 funding. • Improvements are anticipated to be completed by spring 2025.

Improvements to Crofters Park
Concrete pathway and shade structure replacement with seating. For safety, the playground will be closed during pathway construction. The pathway improvements are anticipated to be completed by late 2024, with the new shade structure installed in spring 2025, pending weather and site conditions.

Vellore Heritage Park parking lot closure
The parking lot at Vellore Heritage Park (9541 Weston Rd.) will be closed until February 2026, to safely complete the construction of a new fire station, which will be located at 9511 Weston Rd. During this time, this parking lot will not be accessible for public use. Fencing and signage are in place to notify residents of this closed off area.

Renovations to the parking lot, soccer field and baseball diamond are planned in Wood Valley Park.
