Buying a Home: Neighbourhood Info
Choosing a neighbourhood can be one of the most emotional parts of buying a new home. Whether you are buying your first home, moving into a larger home, or downsizing, it’s likely that you’ll be moving to a new neighbourhood in the process. Getting to know a new neighbourhood takes time, but asking the right questions up front will help you get a feel for whether it’s the right fit for you and your family.
Some of the questions you might have include:
- Are the other homes on the block well maintained?
- How much traffic does the street get?
- Is there enough street parking for your family and visitors?
- Is it conveniently located near places of interest to you: schools, shopping centres, restaurants, parks, place of worship, and public transportation?
- What developments nearby may change home values, traffic patterns, or bylaws?
- What is the proximity to hospitals, medical centres, or health services?
It’s always a great idea to drive around the neighbourhoods you are considering, before buying. If you have questions about the local neighbourhoods, let me know. As a lifelong resident of Vaughan, this is my home too. I’d love to show you around. Call me and let’s get started.
